Bill Okwuosa Is the New Director for New Haven and Derby

Bill brings a wealth of experience and dedication to helping others to his new role as Director of MCCA’s new outpatient facilities in New Haven and Derby.

Bill previously served as the Executive Director of Open Door and Hope Works in Norwalk, where he oversaw the management of this 98-bed recovery and treatment shelter. During his time in Norwalk, Bill earned a reputation as a true champion in the fight for the underprivileged.  Prior to this he was the District Regional Programs Director at The Connection Inc. in New Haven. In this role, Bill worked to provide transitional housing and family reunification, as well as support for clients struggling with mental health and addiction disorders. Early on in his career, Bill served as a state-certified corrections and security officer in the state’s minimum security prison.

In his free time, Bill enjoys spending quality time with his family and football. He enjoyed a short career as pro football player and still very much enjoys the sport.  Bill is dedicated to helping those dealing with addiction and co-occurring disorders and sees himself as a voice for the “Displaced.”
