You don’t have to put your life on pause to get better.
Counseling can be one of the most effective ways to treat addiction. Our intensive outpatient treatment provides flexibility, as well as the support and tools to help you overcome your addiction.
MCCA offers Intensive Outpatient Therapy (IOP) to individuals with substance abuse and addiction problems or mental health disorders. If you or your loved one needs intensive treatment, but going away to an inpatient addiction rehab center is not possible because of money or an inability to leave your family or job, Intensive Outpatient Therapy could be a good option.
Intensive Outpatient Therapy is a critical phase of recovery for individuals dealing with addiction, and provides the necessary support for clients who require treatment that extends beyond once a week.
MCCA offers Intensive Outpatient therapy in our Danbury, Waterbury and New Milford, Derby, Torrington and New Haven locations.
In IOP treatment, clients learn about the disease of addiction and acquire the tools to help get them on the road to recovery. At MCCA our counselors do individual treatment planning as well as group and individual counseling.

Evaluation and Scheduling
A member of our staff will be happy to talk to you about our IOP program and help you determine if this course of treatment is right for you. Engaging in outpatient services at MCCA is as easy as a phone call to 203-792-4515 with a request for an evaluation for outpatient treatment. The evaluation takes approximately 90 minutes and the client will immediately be placed in treatment. There is no waiting list.
The evaluation will offer us an assessment of the level of treatment needed for the client. Every client engages with a counselor for personal attention and treatment planning. Please note, some levels of use of alcohol may require a medical detox due to the physical needs of withdrawal from this particular substance. This also can be determined at the evaluation.
If the client is drinking a significant amount daily he may want to make an initial call for “screening for detox” to move ahead with that help. Be prepared to leave a name and number for a quick response should the screener be on the phone with another client.
