In response to the tragedy in Newtown, we are providing a list of helpful resources to support family members and caregivers. You will find information and links below directing you to these resources.

 Emergency Counseling

  • Newtown Youth & Family Services, Inc., is offering emergency counseling for families, community members or staff involved in the Sandy Hook Elementary school tragedy. No appointment is necessary, walk-ins are welcome. They can be reached directly at 203-426-8103. Located at 15 Berkshire Rd. Sandy Hook, CT 06482.

  • For immediate assistance, you can reach the HYSB (The Housatonic Youth Service Bureau) offices at 860-824-4720.

  • You can also Dial 2-1-1, Connecticut’s statewide, toll-free, 24 hour information and referral service or click here for additional mental health, emergency preparedness and grief counseling resources.
